Helsa Wayton

"Cancel your plans, 'cause you're goin' down!"

Growing up in the far south suburbs of Chicago in the early 70s, in an extremist Bible-belting family, Helsa Wayton learned early on about hellfire, rebellion, and getting where she wants to go no matter who's in her way!

Spending half of her time in church-school, learning all about the good path, and the other half at the local ice arena, training as a competitive figure skater, Helsa led a seemingly sheltered life. But with her parents working endless hours to afford her private education and top notch coaching, Helsa had plenty of time on her own to find trouble.

In the cold, invisible corners of the local ice rink pro shop, Helsa found escape, honing her expert blade sharpening skills to the buzz of the grinding wheel and drone of fluorescent bulbs. One day, against a backdrop of fiery sparks and hardened steel, it struck her that there must be more to life than this. She strapped on the one pair of skates she knew were her best and sharpest work, and skated away, slicing through anyone in her path - literally - leaving a trail of blood, right up to the front doors of the Tinley Park Mental Health Center, where she was locked up for life.

Chipping away at the walls with the toepick of a skate blade she smuggled in, Helsa freed herself to meander about the Midwest. She remained unnoticed, until she crossed paths with another deranged skater - an escapee from the Elgin Mental Health Center for the Criminally Insane - who recognized Helsa's odd mix of skill and lunacy, and introduced her to her small, strange band of cohorts, all in roller skates, calling themselves the Manic Attackers. Helsa knew instantly that she'd fit right in, strapped on some wheels, and stowed her blades away for future use.

Now, part of a growing force to be reckoned with, Helsa's known by insiders for her sharp skills and fiery attitude, and the uncanny ability to keep her true motives under wraps. So watch your back - Helsa's just waitin' for the chance to catch you off-guard, and give you her own, unique version of a belting - one you'll never forget!
