Born in a wealthy NYC suburb, Athena was bred to be the perfect child prodigy. She was able to read by age three, and by age 5, she was fluent in French, Russian, and Chinese. She appeared to have an uncanny knack for understanding the adults around her, and often wowed them with her precocious vocabulary and understanding of the adult world.

It soon became apparent that all was not well, particularly when she played with other children. When the nannies would leave Athena and her playmates alone, the other children would emerge from the room, solemn and bruised in strange patterns, too scared to cry. They’d later beg their parents never to play with Athena again. To no one’s surprise, Athena was headstrong and willful as an adolescent, but always seemed to skate out of trouble on technicalities. Suspicions grew too strong when Athena’s mother took a header off of the family’s second floor foyer balcony. The townspeople began to talk, and fearing for their spotless reputation, Athena’s family decided boarding school was best. Athena burned through school after school, leaving behind a wake of “accidents”, including drownings, overdoses, and the disappearance of a particularly vexing debate team captain.

At her last school, Athena finally met women as cold-hearted and calculating as she. It was hard to rein in such a motley group, but with the common goal of the destruction of all that is good and decent, Athena’s Hell’s Belles were born
